Trail Run/Hike

The Trail Run/Hike will offer a 3.5-mile looped route through the beautiful property of Snow Fork Event Center, with Runners and Hikers able to complete the route as many times as desired during the course open hours of 10:00am to 2:30pm.

Your Gravel Day Timeline

Follow this simple guide for all the important dates and times during Gravel Day!

Community Gathering (Friday, October 2)

Immerse yourself in the Gravel Day weekend experience by joining us for an optional gathering with overnight camping!

  • 3:00pm: Snow Fork Event Center opens for camping check-in/set-up
  • 6:00pm: Community Gathering begins with dinner and participant check-in available
  • 6:20pm: Welcome remarks begin
  • 6:30pm: Entertainment begins
  • 9:00pm: Community Gathering and participant check-in ends

Your Run/Hike (Saturday, October 3)

  • 7:00am – 9:00am: Arrive at Snow Fork Event Center for participant check-in and breakfast
  • 10:00am – 2:30pm: Trail Run/Hike course open
  • 5:30pm: Last call for buffet and alcohol
  • 6:00pm: Finish Line Celebration ends

Snow Fork Event Center (5685 Happy Hollow Rd., Nelsonville, OH 45764)

This gathering is open to all Gravel Day participants and Volunteers, as well as their family and friends, whether they’re camping on-site or staying nearby in other accommodations! Please RSVP here by September 18. Seating is limited, so we encourage all attendees to bring their own chair for the evening.

Please be aware that there is construction on US-33 near Nelsonville, so plan to allow extra time and expect traffic as you travel to the event. 

All guests who are attending the Community Gathering, including all camping guests, should enter Snow Fork at the main property entrance. At the fork in the road once inside the venue, Late Departure camping guests should continue to the left for campsite check-in, and Early Departure camping guests and all other guests should continue to the right and follow signage.

Participant check-in will be open during the Community Gathering on Friday, October 2, and will reopen in the morning on Saturday, October 3.

  • After parking, each participant should proceed to the check-in area with a driver’s license or other photo ID to receive their credentials.
  • All participants will receive their Gravel Day gift at check-in.
  • If you check in on Friday, be sure to bring everything from your credential packet with you on Saturday morning.

Both RV and car/tent camping spots are available and must be reserved here by September 18.

Be sure to select the right camping option when reserving your site. Early Departure sites will be placed to have access to leave Snow Fork throughout the day, but Late Departure sites will be further into the site, where exit will not be possible until after all participants have finished (roughly 5:00pm).

Details for Your Run/Hike (Saturday, October 3)

  • Before Gravel Day, please review all Safety & Training Resources
  • Be mindful of terrain throughout the run/hike course, including roots, rocks, and other obstacles.
  • Be alert and never leave the marked course.
  • If you need support for any reason from SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles, Volunteers, or Pelotonia staff during Gravel Day, please call or text 1-855-889-RIDE (7433).

Please be aware that there is construction on US-33 near Nelsonville, so plan to allow extra time and expect traffic as you travel to the event. 

All participants, Volunteers, and guests arriving to Gravel Day on Saturday will utilize the auxiliary entrance to Snow Fork Event Center (located near 5879 Happy Hollow Rd., Nelsonville, OH 45764) to access the venue. No vehicular traffic will be allowed into the main entrance on Saturday after 8:15am for the safety of Riders. If you arrive to the main entrance of Snow Fork after this time, parking attendants will direct you to continue south on Happy Hollow Road, following event signage to the secondary entrance.

When arriving to and departing from Snow Fork Event Center, please use extreme caution as ride routes utilize the roadways around the venue.

While some participants may choose to check in on Friday night, participant check-in will be open in the morning on Saturday, October 3.

  • After parking, each participant should proceed to the check-in area with a driver’s license or other photo ID to receive their credentials. If checking in on Saturday morning, please plan to arrive at the start location between 7:00am and 9:00am to ensure you have enough time to check in and enjoy the provided breakfast.
  • All participants will receive their Gravel Day gift at check-in.

A mass start for all Trail Runners/Hikers will depart from Snow Fork Event Center at 10:00am. Please note that the beginning of the course will be congested as everyone gets started, so take your time and be patient.

All Runners/Hikers should plan to arrive at the start venue no earlier than 7:00am, and no later than 9:00am.

The run/hike course will be open from 10:00am – 2:30pm.

  • All Runners/Hikers must start the course at the official start location.
  • Participants may complete the course as many times as desired within this time frame.
  • No participants will be able to enter the course after 2:30pm.
  • The course will be marked with Pelotonia flags, barricade tape, and signage. Please follow all signage carefully and never leave the marked course for the safety of all.

There will be a rest stop along the route at approximately mile 2. Drinks, food, and first aid assistance will be available at this stop.

Family and friends are not permitted at any Pelotonia rest stops to ensure Runner/Hiker safety. Please invite your family and friends to join you at the Finish Line Celebration.

It is critically important to avoid dehydration by drinking water and sports drinks throughout your run/hike.

  • Bring at least one water bottle with you.
  • Do not rely on thirst to guide your hydration, because thirst kicks in only after you are already becoming dehydrated.

Enjoy food, drinks, live entertainment, and the chance to celebrate your physical and fundraising accomplishments with the Pelotonia community! Showers will be available at the finish, so please be sure to bring shower supplies and a towel if you plan to utilize this.

Family and friends are welcome to join you at the Finish Line Celebration! Family and friends must follow the signage and instructions from law enforcement officers and Volunteers, and watch for participants no matter where they are on the property.
