Legacy giving, also known as planned giving, offers a way to support causes that are close to your heart even beyond your lifetime. By including Pelotonia in your estate plans, you can leave a legacy that will continue to make a significant difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families.
By choosing to make a planned gift to Pelotonia, you can provide vital resources for groundbreaking cancer research, support innovative treatments, and help future generations live in a world free from the burden of cancer. Your generosity will enable Pelotonia to continue funding the life-saving work carried out by The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
There are several ways you can leave a legacy to Pelotonia:
Bequests: Designate Pelotonia as a beneficiary in your will or trust. This simple and flexible option allows you to specify a percentage or specific amount to be donated.
Retirement Plans and IRA Charitable Rollovers: Consider naming Pelotonia as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, such as a 401(k) or IRA. You may also benefit from tax advantages associated with these types of gifts.
IRA: If you are 70 ½ years or older, you may give up to $100,000 annually from your IRA directly to Pelotonia, as we are a qualified organization. We recommend contacting your IRA Administrator to discuss how to initiate the distributions. Please instruct your administrator to make checks payable to Pelotonia. If you would like to support a participant, please include the Rider ID on the memo line of your check, as well as your first and last name and home address. The check will be mailed to our gift processing facility.
Life Insurance Policies: Name Pelotonia as a beneficiary or donate an existing policy.
Charitable Gift Annuities and Trusts: Explore options such as charitable gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts that can provide income to you or your loved ones during your lifetime, with the remaining amount benefiting Pelotonia.
