Behind The Scenes
15 Years. One Goal.

By The Pelotonia Team|February 01, 2023

In 2023, Pelotonia will celebrate its 15th year of funding innovative, life-saving cancer research! To continue the transformational impact the Pelotonia community makes on the landscape of cancer treatment, screening, and early diagnosis, we’re expanding the Pelotonia experience in 2023.
This year, in addition to the hallmark Opening Ceremony, Ride Weekend, and Impact Celebration events, Pelotonia is excited to announce the addition of a new cycling event – Gravel Day – scheduled for September 30. Registration for Pelotonia 2023 will open on March 1 at 12pm ET.
Read below for key details about each event:
Opening Ceremony -- Friday, August 4
A celebration to kick off the fall events featuring live entertainment, a program of inspirational survivorship stories, food and drink, merch, vendors, and more.
Ride Weekend -- Saturday, August 5 and Sunday, August 6
Ride Weekend takes place on supported road routes starting in central Ohio and touring the Ohio countryside all the way to Gambier. With routes ranging from 20 miles to more than 100 miles, there's an option for everyone!
  • All Saturday routes will take Riders through Pickerington for the first time since 2019
  • The 100-mile route has been re-imagined with multiple opportunities for Riders to choose more or less hilly spans and reunite to finish as a team
  • The popular Sunday loop will feature a completely redesigned route
Gravel Day -- Saturday, September 30
Interested in a more adventurous Pelotonia experience? Our brand-new Gravel Day event is designed for you.
  • Featuring an increasingly popular style of cycling called gravel riding
  • Loop routes on unpaved roads showcasing picturesque landscapes for a truly breathtaking ride
 Impact Celebration -- November 2023
We close the year with a celebration of your impact. This fun event includes live entertainment, food and drink, and a creative reveal of your accomplishments. You won’t want to miss it!
With more than $258 million raised for the community’s One Goal to advance innovative cancer research, the 15th year of Pelotonia is one of celebration and continued momentum. Thanks to the generous support of funding partners, 100 percent of every dollar raised by Pelotonia participants is directed to ground-breaking cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James).
Additional route details and fundraising requirements for both Ride Weekend and Gravel Day will be shared ahead of registration opening on March 1.
100% of participant-raised funds go to innovative cancer research.
