By The Pelotonia Team|April 22, 2021

Pelotonia today announced Safelite AutoGlass® as a new supporting funding partner, committing $250,000 annually in 2021, 2022 and 2023. With the support of funding partners such as Safelite, Pelotonia can donate 100 percent of every dollar raised by participants to The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC -James), including The Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO).
“Our Pelotonia community is incredibly moved and grateful for the support from Safelite to accelerate our mission of funding innovative cancer research,” said Doug Ulman, Pelotonia President and CEO. “Their commitment is particularly meaningful in this notable year when cancer research has been impacted by pandemic setbacks. We’re so thankful for their contributions that will allow us to amplify our impact.”
Pelotonia is also pleased to welcome Renee Cacchillo, Safelite AutoGlass customer experience officer, to the Pelotonia leadership board. Cacchillo has participated annually in Pelotonia for a decade with her husband and daughters. Cacchillo brings her history of strategic innovation and commitment to a people-first business approach to Pelotonia’s efforts to fund cancer research.
“This is an honor and a great opportunity for Safelite to align with Pelotonia in supporting accelerated cancer research,” said Renee Cacchillo, executive vice president, customer experience officer at Safelite. Our people-first philosophy, the passion our associates have in helping others and their commitment to volunteerism nicely aligns with the Pelotonia community. I look forward to our contributions as a funding partner in advancing their mission and of course, pedaling with my friends and family during the annual ride.”
Ulman said, “Renee’s leadership, experience and most importantly her passion will be critical in our overall growth and support of our global community working to advance cancer research.”
The expansion of the Safelite AutoGlass relationship to supporting funding partner follows several years of fundraising and operational support. Safelite AutoGlass and the company’s peloton participants have raised more than $325,000 for Pelotonia to date.
"On behalf of the entire Pelotonia Board, we are thrilled to welcome Renee,” said Raphael Pollock, MD, PhD, Pelotonia Board Member and Director of the OSUCCC – James and surgical oncologist at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. “Her longstanding support of our mission and her innovative approach to customer experience will be of tremendous value as we grow our impact and raise funds for critical cancer research at the OSUCCC – James."
