Ride Weekend 17-Mile Route

Designed for cyclists of all experience levels, this will be our shortest route with minimal elevation gain. This loop route will take Riders through Bexley and The Ohio State University campus before finishing back at North Bank Park.

Your Ride Weekend Timeline

Follow this simple guide for all the important dates and times during Ride Weekend!

Opening Ceremony (Friday, July 31)

  • 11:30am-8:00pm: Rider check-in and gift distribution, first aid services, bike storage and maintenance, bag drop-off, and merch sales
  • 4:00pm: Gates open
  • 4:00-8:00pm: Dinner buffet, beverages, and Partner Expo
  • 6:30-7:00pm: Stage program
  • 7:00-8:00pm: Headliner performance by Andrew McMahon

Your Ride (Saturday, August 1)

  • 5:30am: McFerson Commons opens to provide first aid services, bike maintenance, bag drop-off, and breakfast.
  • 8:30 – 8:45am: All 17-mile Riders will start from McFerson Commons in two waves (8:30am and 8:45am). Your specific start time will be communicated the week leading up to Ride Weekend. Please plan to arrive to McFerson Commons 60 to 90 minutes before your start time.
  • 11:00am: Goodale Park rest stop closes.
  • 1:30pm: 17-mile Finish Line Celebration at McFerson Commons closes.

  • 11:30am-8:00pm: Rider check-in and gift distribution, first aid services, bike storage and maintenance, bag drop-off, and merch sales

  • 6:30-7:00pm: Stage program
  • 7:00-8:00pm: Headliner performance by Andrew McMahon
All Riders should come to McFerson Commons to check-in and pick up their Rider Credential Packet.
  • On Friday morning, July 31, you will receive a text message with important information you need to check in. Please have this text and your photo ID ready at the Rider Check-In tent.
  • If you do not receive a text message, don’t worry! Go to the Check-In tent when you arrive and a Volunteer will help you.
  • High Rollers should check in at the High Roller tent near the entrance to McFerson Commons.
  • If you are unable to check in and receive your Rider credentials on Friday evening, you may pick up your credentials on Saturday morning at McFerson Commons. Please be sure to arrive on site by 7:30am to allow ample time to pick up your credentials.
  • If utilizing Ride Day check-in, please email pelotonia@pelotonia.org to coordinate pick up of your Rider gift at Pelotonia HQ following Ride Weekend.
Ride Weekend Riders and a guest may attend. High Rollers who commit to raise at least $5,000 may invite an additional two guests.
Entrance wristbands will be included in each Rider credential packet.
Be sure to bring a valid photo ID along if you’d like to enjoy adult beverages!
Please be patient and plan to allow extra time for traffic and parking!

Use our Ride Weekend parking pass to access free parking in the noted Arena District garages by scanning the QR code upon entry and exit to these garages. If you choose to park in a different lot or garage, you are responsible for all necessary payment and adhering to all restrictions.

Please be aware that Spring Street and Long Street between Hocking Street and Marconi Boulevard will be closed, with no vehicular access available. Additionally, availability in the Marconi, McConnell and Neil Avenue Garages may be limited during the day, so consider utilizing the Front Street Garage, easily accessible from the east by traveling south on 3rd Street or north on 4th Street, turning west on Spring Street, then north on Front Street.
Please note: Most parking garage entrances do not have the vertical clearance to accommodate bicycles mounted on roof racks, so please plan accordingly.
  • Riders may drop off their bikes and a bag with Volunteers on Friday to save time at the start line on Saturday morning. 
  • Riders must use the tags provided in their Credential Packet to properly label their bikes and bags. 
  • Bikes and bags are not required to be dropped off on Friday! You can also bring them with you on Saturday morning. 

Details for Your Ride (Saturday, August 1)

  • To ensure all participants finish within the time during which route support will be available, the 17-mile loop route will require all Riders to maintain a 5mph pace (inclusive of any stoppage time at the rest stop). Based on this required pace, all Riders must leave the Goodale Park rest stop by 11:00am. Riders not leaving the rest stop by this time will be asked to turn back towards North Bank Park and finish a shortened version of the route.
  • Before Ride Weekend, please review all Safety & Training ResourcesRemember, you are responsible for knowing and following the Rules of the Road!
  • All Riders should know how to change their tire and be prepared with the needed parts and tools to do so. Check out our Safety & Training Resources to prepare yourself!
  • Helmets are required and must be worn at all times while riding.
  • If you need support for any reason from SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles, Volunteers, or Pelotonia staff during Ride Weekend, please call or text 1-855-889-RIDE (7433).
  • To ensure all participants finish within the time during which route support will be available, the 17-mile loop route will require all Riders to maintain a 5mph pace (inclusive of any stoppage time at the rest stop). 
  • Based on this required pace, all Riders must leave the Goodale Park rest stop by 11:00am. Riders not leaving the rest stop by this time will be asked to turn back toward North Bank Park and finish a shortened version of the route.
17-mile Riders will start from on Saturday at 8:30am or 8:45am
  • Riders will be assigned a staging group and start time that is determined by ride distance and Peloton affiliation. 
  • Your official start time will be communicated in advance of Ride Weekend via email and listed on your Rider Credential. A color-coded bike plate that corresponds to your pre-assigned start time will be included with your Rider credential packet. 
  • There will be two holding areas at McFerson Commons, and Riders will be called into the first 30 minutes before their assigned start time, and the second 15 minutes before their start time. If it’s not your time to enter these areas, please enjoy breakfast, coffee, and cheering on your fellow Riders!
All 17-mile Riders should plan to arrive to McFerson Commons 60 to 90 minutes before their start time. Allow yourself ample time for parking and breakfast, as well as use of first aid and mechanical services if needed. 
All Riders must start the ride at the official start location. Law enforcement and support vehicles will be timed with Riders who participate in the organized start. 
  • Your cooperation is key to making the start of Pelotonia safe and enjoyable for everyone. If you do not leave with the organized start to which you are assigned, you will be proceeding at your own risk. 
  • Please do not put yourself and your fellow Riders in danger by violating these rules. Thank you in advance for your cooperation! 
There will be a rest stop along the route at approximately mile marker 10. Drinks, food, mechanical support, and first aid assistance will be available.   
Family and friends are not permitted at any Pelotonia rest stops to ensure Rider safety.  
It is critically important to avoid dehydration by drinking water and sports drinks throughout your ride. 
  • Bring at least one water bottle with you. 
  • Do not rely on thirst to guide your hydration, because thirst kicks in only after you are already becoming dehydrated. 
  • Please review this for tips on staying hydrated and energized throughout your ride. 
Enjoy food, drinks, and celebrating your ride at the 17-mile Finish Line Celebration, which will take place at North Bank Park and McFerson Commons.
Family and friends are welcome to join you at the Finish Line Celebration! Family and friends must follow the signage and instructions from law enforcement officers and Volunteers, and watch for Riders no matter where they are on the property.
