Ride Weekend 24-mile route

Start Information

24-mile Riders will start from McFerson Commons on Saturday at 8:15am8:30am or 8:45am.
  • Riders will be assigned a staging group and start time that is determined by ride distance and Peloton affiliation.
  • Your official start time will be communicated in advance of Ride Weekend via email and listed on your Rider Credential. A color-coded bike plate that corresponds to your pre-assigned start time will be included with your Rider credential packet.
  • There will be two holding areas at McFerson Commons, and Riders will be called into the first 30 minutes before their assigned start time, and the second 15 minutes before their start time. If it’s not your time to enter these areas, please enjoy breakfast, coffee, and cheering on your fellow Riders!
All 24-mile Riders should plan to arrive to McFerson Commons 1 to 2 hours before their start time. Allow yourself ample time for parking and breakfast, as well as use of first aid and mechanical services if needed.
All Riders must start the Ride at the official start location. Law enforcement and support vehicles will be timed with Riders who participate in the organized start.
  • Your cooperation is key to making the start of Pelotonia safe and enjoyable for everyone. If you do not leave with the organized start to which you are assigned, you will be proceeding at your own risk.
  • Please do not put yourself and your fellow Riders in danger by violating these rules. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Rest Stops & Hydration

There will be a rest stop along the route at approximately mile marker 10. Drinks, food, mechanical support, and first aid assistance will be available.
Family and friends are not permitted at any Pelotonia rest stops to ensure Rider safety.
It is critically important to avoid dehydration by drinking water and sports drinks throughout your ride.
  • Bring at least one water bottle with you.
  • Do not rely on thirst to guide your hydration, because thirst kicks in only after you are already becoming dehydrated.
  • Please review this quick guide for tips on staying hydrated and energized throughout your ride.

Finish Information

Enjoy food, drinks, and celebrating your ride at the 24-mile Finish Line Celebration which will take place at New Albany Schools. A shower trailer will be available at the finish, so please be sure to bring shower supplies and a towel if you plan to utilize this.
Family and friends are welcome to join you at the Finish Line Celebration!
  • All spectator traffic arriving at the New Albany Schools finish should plan to park in the off-site shuttle lot at 6500 New Albany Road East and must enter the property from New Albany Road East. A spectator parking map can be viewed at pelotonia.org/cheer, and information on accessible parking can be viewed at pelotonia.org/ride-weekend/accessibility.
  • Guests should avoid driving on 605 (New Albany Condit Road/High Street) for the safety of all Riders.
  • Family and friends must follow the signage and instructions from law enforcement officers and Volunteers and watch for Riders no matter where they are on the property.
  • Family and friends can use the Pelotonia Tracker app to follow your progress on the route and see your estimated finish time. Spectators should download the app and search your name within the Ride Weekend event to receive push notifications when you start your ride, enter & exit rest stops, are 5 miles from your finish venue, and complete your Ride. The Pelotonia Tracker app is available for download from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Shuttles & Bike Trucks

If you will be using Pelotonia bike trucks to transport your bike back to McFerson Commons, please deliver your bike to the Volunteers at the bike trucks as soon as you arrive at New Albany Schools.
  • Remove all personal belongings from your bike before it is loaded onto the truck.
  • If you are using Pelotonia’s bike transportation, download the Pelotonia Tracker app and search for your name under the “Bike Transport” event to receive push notifications when your bike has departed the finish venue and when it is available for pick-up back at your start venue.
