We've all been touched by cancer. It may have been a loved one, a sibling, a parent or someone else. For me, my father lost one kidney to cancer and slowly lost the function of the other. In April of 2009 he passed away. He was lucky, he led a long life and while he was inconvenienced by his illness, he did not suffer. Others are not as fortunate.
I want to do what I can to help find a cure, to help find better treatment and to help make life better for those that are impacted by cancer.
IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE

* 1.4 million Americans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year.
* 560,000 Americans are expected to die from cancer this year, or more than 1,500 per day.
* Nearly 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will develop cancer during their lifetime.
Chances are, you will be affected; 3 out of 4 families will help care for a family member with cancer.
