I was honored and proud to be a part of the Inaugural Ride in 2009. The feelings and emotions from that experience stay with me still. Originally only slated to ride 25 miles, I managed to eke in another 25 and make the ride to Amanda- with a malignant glioma lodged in the base of brain stem.
I was fortunate enough to be interviewed and included in Steve Wartenberg's blog, featuring the stories of both riders and volunteers. Here's the link to the blog:

UPDATE- 08/13/10:
They found 4 new gliomas in my brain stem on 7/30/10. Began chemo on 08/02/10. 2 radiation seeds implanted in brain stem on 08/09/10. I will still ride, no matter what!
